Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (for greasing)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously butter a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle half of the Gruyère cheese on top. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and finish with Parmesan cheese.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
