Description

Tomato Basil Pasta is a vibrant and flavorful dish that captures the essence of Italian cooking with its fresh ingredients and simple preparation.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti (or pasta of choice)
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain, reserving ½ cup of pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  3. Stir in chopped tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cook until softened (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add torn basil leaves just before removing from heat.
  5. Combine drained pasta with the tomato-basil sauce in the skillet, adding reserved pasta water as needed for creaminess.
  6. Serve immediately, drizzled with more olive oil and garnished with additional basil.
