Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, butter, and brown sugar until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
  4. Pour the filling over the baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set but slightly wobbly in the center.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
