  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced into wedges
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef and chop the vegetables.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, cornstarch slurry, and optional chili flakes.
  3. Heat a large skillet over high heat and add vegetable oil. Sear beef slices for about 2 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Add bell peppers and onion to the skillet; stir-fry for about 3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Pour sauce over the beef and vegetables; cook for another 2 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Serve over rice or noodles with remaining sauce drizzled on top.
