Perfect for Valentine’s Day or any occasion, these macarons not only tantalize your taste buds but also serve as a stunning centerpiece. Each bite offers an exquisite balance of flavors and textures that will impress anyone lucky enough to indulge.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour (100g)
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar (200g)
  • 3 large egg whites (about 90g)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (100g)
  • Gel food coloring (to preference)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (113g)
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (60ml)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, whip the egg whites until foamy; gradually add granulated sugar and whip until stiff peaks form.
  3. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar; gently fold into the whipped egg whites until just combined.
  4. Divide the batter into bowls for coloring; add gel food coloring and fold until evenly mixed.
  5. Pipe small circles onto prepared sheets, leaving space between each. Tap trays to release air bubbles.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until macarons lift easily off parchment. Let cool before filling with ganache or buttercream.
