Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 oz chocolate melts (red or dark)
  • Optional: sprinkles or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a round baking pan.
  2. Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to package instructions using eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into fine pieces in a large bowl. Mix in half of the cream cheese frosting until sticky yet manageable.
  4. Roll the mixture into one-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Melt the chocolate melts as per package instructions. Dip each cake pop stick into melted chocolate before inserting it into each ball; then coat each pop fully in chocolate and add sprinkles if desired.
  6. Refrigerate for about an hour to set before serving.
