Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork ribs (baby back or spare)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry.
  3. In a bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Rub this spice blend all over the ribs.
  4. Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet, cover tightly with foil, and bake for 2.5 hours until tender.
  5. Uncover the ribs and brush barbecue sauce on both sides.
  6. Increase oven temperature to broil and cook for an additional 5-10 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.
