Ingredients
  

Green Beans
  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Oil
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Method
 

Prepare the Green Beans
  1. Wash and trim the ends of the green beans.
Make the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add buttermilk and whisk until smooth.
Heat the Oil
  1. In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Green Beans
  1. Dip each green bean into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  2. Carefully place the battered green beans into the hot oil.
  3. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried green beans and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve
  1. Serve hot as an appetizer or side dish.

Notes
