Method
Prepare the Dough
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, lemon zest, rosewater, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Shape and Bake
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar before serving.
