Ingredients

Cream Mixture
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream chilled
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Limoncello Soak
  • 1/2 cup limoncello
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
Ladyfingers Layer
  • 24 pieces ladyfingers
Topping
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest for garnish

Method

Prepare the Cream Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy.
Make the Limoncello Soak
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the limoncello, water, and sugar. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat and let cool.
Assemble the Tiramisu
  1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the limoncello soak, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer half of the soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture.
Chill and Serve
  1. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Before serving, dust the top with powdered sugar and garnish with lemon zest.
