Making the Truffles
- Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring gently until smooth and glossy. This should take about 5-7 minutes; ensure no water gets in!
- Combine the cream and limoncello in a separate saucepan over medium heat. Stir until it begins to simmer, then pour it over the melted chocolate, letting it sit for a minute.
- Whisk the mixture until it’s beautifully blended and silky. You'll know it's ready when there's no visible chocolate left, only a luscious, lemony ganache.
- Chill the ganache in the fridge for about 1-2 hours or until it's firm enough to scoop.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the chilled ganache using a melon baller or spoon. Roll them quickly between your palms to form smooth, round truffles.
- Coat each truffle in finely chopped nuts or powdered sugar for an extra touch of flavor and elegance.
- Serve your Limoncello Truffles on a decorative plate, letting them dazzle at your next gathering or cozy night in with family.
