Ingredients
  

For the Dough
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast Make sure it’s fresh for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
For the Onion Filling
  • 2 medium Onions Caramelized; use red or yellow based on preference.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh herbs Chopped parsley or cilantro.
For Serving
  • 1 cup Yogurt or sour cream Creamy dip.
  • Extra herbs or spices Consider paprika or chili flakes for added flavor.

Method
 

Making the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and warm water. Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
Preparing the Filling
  1. While the dough rises, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and cook until translucent and slightly caramelized, about 10 minutes.
Shaping and Cooking
  1. Once risen, turn the dough onto a floured surface and divide it into equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
  2. Flatten each dough ball with your hands and roll it out to about ¼-inch thick.
  3. Sprinkle the sautéed onions evenly over each flatbread, gently pressing them in.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
