Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add molasses and egg; mix until smooth. Gradually combine the dry ingredients.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour.
- Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about a quarter-inch thickness and cut out tree shapes with cookie cutters. Place on prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges brown slightly. Let cool before decorating.
